Radisson Blu Hotel, Biarritz
We turned a designer’s vision into rooms with a view.
When interior designer, Valérie de Tilly, created a new look for Radisson’s oceanfront hotel, HHE Highridge looked to Gleeds to translate that vision into a reality.
Our expertise helped add a splash of individuality, and air conditioning, to 64 four-star guest rooms spread over 2 floors during this one-year modernisation.
Not all smooth sailing
A tight timeframe and a tight budget made this soft refurbishment particularly hard. Another curveball was thrown to our team in the shape of a request to use all the rooms for one day – smack bang in the middle of work.
Despite the challenges, Gleeds enabled the hotel to open its new rooms to guests without any extra delays – and on budget. Some of the steps we took to ensure our client saved time and money included:
- Reducing costs by splitting trades and using local contractors
- Hiring a decorator we knew was right for the job
- Ensuring quality was high first time to reduce snagging
Biarritz is a European surfing mecca and considered one of the best places in the world to catch the wave.
