Promises of significant infrastructure investment heading to the West Midlands has set the regional construction market on a high, as confidence in the market grows.

The prospect of schemes like HS2, could make the region a central travel and communications hub and an alternative location to London for company headquarters.

However, with labour and material shortages still plaguing the industry, increases in demand will only serve to exacerbate the problem.

The marketplace on the other hand is struggling under the labour shortage. The main challenge now is to attract and retain industry trades and professions to support projects.
